Weather in Manchester

Manchester is the fifth most populous city in England and is also the third most visited city in Britain after London and Edinburgh. The city is located 160 miles northwest of London. To the east lies river Irwell in confluence with river Medlock and Irk. The city center also lies here. River Mersey flows through the south of the city. The scenic beauty of the city blooms in winters when the Pennines is caped in the snow in winter months. The city is blessed with natural resources with proximity to a seaport at Liverpool, availability of hydro energy from water resources, and thermal from coal reserves nearby.

The city experiences a temperate oceanic climate. Summer days temperature crosses 20-degree Celsius easily. However, due to global warming, the temperatures in summer have often risen to 30-degree Celsius as well. The average rainfall here is 806.6 mm. Humidity is usually high here, and there is also the availability of soft water. The lowest temperature to have ever recorded is -17 degree Celsius in January 2010.
