Barnstable County is located in the US state of Massachusetts and is the largest county in the state by land area. It is made up of fifteen towns and two landlocked villages, and includes the towns of Barnstable, Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Dennis, Eastham, Falmouth, Harwich, Mashpee, Orleans, Provincetown, Sandwich, Truro, Wellfleet, and Yarmouth. The climate in Barnstable County is generally considered to be a humid continental climate with mild to warm summers and cold winters. The average temperatures year round range from low 30s to mid-50s in the winter months, and mid-60s to mid-80s in the summer months. Precipitation is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, with an average of around 45 inches per year.
