Boulder is a city in the state of Colorado, in the United States. It is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, at the foothills of the Front Range. The city enjoys a high altitude, with an average elevation of 5,430 feet. Boulder has a semi-arid climate and experiences four distinct seasons. Summers are generally warm and sunny, and temperatures reach an average high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit in July. Winters are cold and snowy, and temperatures can drop to an average low of 19 degrees Fahrenheit in January. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from the 40s to the 70s. The city gets an average of about 18 inches of precipitation annually, with most of it falling in the spring and early summer.
