The Borough of Wirral is a metropolitan borough located in Merseyside, in the north-west of England. The borough is situated on the Wirral Peninsula, surrounded by the River Mersey to the east and the River Dee to the west. It is bordered by the city of Liverpool to the north and the Cheshire towns of Ellesmere Port and Chester to the south. The climate in the Borough of Wirral is temperate maritime with warm summers and cool winters. The average temperature year round is 10-12°C (50-54°F). Rainfall is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, averaging around 700mm (28in) annually. Snowfall is relatively rare, although there is a chance of snow in Winter months.
