Moorpark is a city in Ventura County, California, United States. The city is named after the Moorpark apricot, which used to grow in the area. Located just east of Simi Valley, Moorpark is a suburb of Los Angeles and is located in the northwestern corner of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Moorpark has a mild Mediterranean climate, with warm and dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average temperature year round is in the high 60s and low 70s, with temperatures rarely going above 90 degrees Fahrenheit or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The area generally receives about 10-15 inches of rain per year.
