Baca County is a county located in the southeastern corner of the state of Colorado, in the United States. It is bordered to the north by Cheyenne County, to the east by Kansas, to the south by Oklahoma, and to the west by New Mexico. The county seat is Springfield. The climate of Baca County is a semi-arid climate, with hot summers and cold winters. The average temperature year round is around 55°F (13°C), with the average high in the summer being around 89°F (32°C) and the average low in the winter being around 21°F (-6°C). Precipitation is generally low, with around 13 inches (330 mm) annually, with most of it falling in the spring and early summer months. There is some snowfall in the winter, but it is usually light.
